This
is one of many parts of the temple that house these 'Soul Plates'. They are
pieces of wood, some more elaborate than others that have a picture of a dead
ancestor on them. Descendants come to the temple regularly to pay respect to
their ancestors by praying in front of the plate and burning joss sticks and
giving offerings.
