This is Daru International Airport (at least that is what the sign said). Daru is a small island off the south coast of PNG.

The airport offerred no shops, no customs, no control tower and no toilets. The airplane circled to check to make sure there were no planes in the vicinity and also to scare any livestock off the landing strip. The crowd in background just came out to watch the plane land.
