St.
Francis Xavier established the first school , St Paul's College and performed
miracles that astounded the population. He was buried in Malacca for 6 months
after dying abroad in 1552. When his grave was exhumed his body was found to be
free from decay. Later, before he was cannonised, the Pope wanted to see the
right hand of his corpse. Miraculously, the right hand of this statue fell of as
well.
