Day 19 – Wildsptiz and Zug

We had a bit of a slow day. In the morning Paul left for Romania only to return after we have left. After Paul’s departure Sophie, Di and Matthew headed down to the local pool for a swim. Unfortunately the pool was closed in the morning and in the afternoon Di’s services were required to look after Paige while Sheridan and I went walking.

At 12:30 Sheridan and Chris headed off to meet a couple of Sheridan’s friends, Jim and Tash and we all drove to the side of Wildspitz to start the walk. After walking uphill for about 30 minutes the track turned to snow in parts which made walking slightly slippery as well as wet.

After walking for almost two hours we hit the top. Just when I thought we had reached the crest of some wild peak we were presented with the sight of a restaurant, a couple of paragliders, a mountain biker and a 70 year old guy who had walked up from a different direction.

Wildspitz is1580 metres high. I think we started walking at about 900m but I am not really sure.

Walking in Swizterland is very rewarding since every climb seems to be rewarded with a magnificent view of mountains, town and farmhouses.

After conquering Wildsplitz Sheridan and I drove home via a goat diary to get some goats milk for Paige who is allergic to cow’s milk. At the goats diary there was an honesty box, a vat of goats milk and some bottles from which Sheridan served herself. For the record the going rate for farm fresh goats milk is approx $1AUD per litre.

After arriving home Sheridan and Di cooked pizzas for dinner. After dinner Di and Chris went for a walk into Zug and around the town.
