Papua and New Guinea - Mt Wilhelm and Mt Giluwe / The way to the top - 8th - 15th October 2006
FILE: DSC01776a.jpg
DESCRIPTION: Roger is poiting towards the top. Although you cannot see the top from this point it is a few klms further from the highest visible point. We are at about 11,000 ft (3 400 metres).
The route we took involves climbing up and through a montane rainforest and then along an alpine grassland glacial valley to the twin lakes of Piunde and Aunde (mother and daughter). This is the mother lake. The daughter lake was a bit higher up and was quite a bit smaller.
